Statement of Faith  -  Lord of Life Lutheran Church
Lord of Life Lutheran Church is a member congregation of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.

We believe that …

•  ... the Bible is the inerrant Word of God which makes us wise for salvation in Jesus and is the source of our understanding of the saving faith and Christian life and conduct
(2 Timothy 3:14-17)

•  ... God reveals Himself to us as One God, yet with three distinct persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—and that no one can be saved unless they come by faith through Jesus to the Father
(John 14:6; Acts 4:12)

•  ... God teaches us that He brought all things into existence through a six day creation and that we as humans are unique and the crown of His creation
(Genesis 1; Hebrew 11:3; Psalm 139:13-16)

•  ... Jesus is both true God and true man, was sinless, and brought about our salvation by His active obedience on our behalf and His passive suffering in our place for payment of the sin of the whole world
(John 3:16-17; 1 John 2:1-2)

 •  ... the Holy Spirit begins and sustains faith and grace in our heart through the Word of God, Baptism, and the Lord’s Supper and that He gifts and empowers all of God’s people for service as His Church, not just those who serve in the professional ministry of the church
(1 Corinthians 12:3; John 7:38-39; Romans 10:17, 12:6-8; Titus 3:4-7; 1 Peter 2:4-10)

•  ... Jesus is coming back a second and final time to physically raise the dead, end the current ages, and take believers home to heaven and that there is a real, physical, eternal place of punishment for unbelief called Hell (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Luke 16:19-31)

•  ... God’s people gathered together as His Church to be declared holy by faith in Jesus, to offer a declaration of forgiveness to each other, to be empowered to be Christ’s hands and feet and voice in service to each other and to our community, and to have the purpose to “make disciples/followers” of Jesus
(John 20;23; Romans 3:20-24; Ephesians 4:11-16; Matthew 28:18-20)
